What's the Theme?
Our theme this year is: SOUNDTRACK. Every story has a song. Every song tells a story. Music tells us when danger is near and when hope has arrived. Music announces adventure on the horizon and when courage is found. The song of a story is as important as any character. Music guides how we feel about LOVE, LIFE, and DEATH. You are in a story, your life is the song. What does the song of YOUR life tell OTHERS about OUR story? It’s time our song becomes worthy of our journey. Does your story need a new song?
When do we meet?
We will meet in the Youth Area on FRIDAY, December 6 at 6PM. Please eat before you come OR bring food with you to eat while others are checking in.
When you arrive, please look for the luggage trailer. Leave your luggage in the parking lot near the trailer BEFORE coming inside to check-in. DO NOT BRING YOUR LUGGAGE INSIDE!!!!
Once you come inside, please proceed to the check-in table to let us know you are there. If you still owe a balance, please have your cash, check, or credit card ready.
We hope to be leaving the church as close to 6:45 as possible!
ALL participants (Young or old, staff or student) MUST have an up-to-date 2019 or 2020 Reliability Form signed and turned in BEFORE you can attend retreat.
What do I need to bring?
Bedding for a twin mattress, meds you may need, warm clothes, toiletries, towel, shower shoes, bible, pen, journal, flashlight, AND MONEY FOR LUNCH ON SUNDAY.
What will the weather be like?
As of this writing, the weather looks to be AWESOME…but very FALL/WINTER like. The HIGH for Friday and Saturday is in the mid 70’s and the LOW is in the upper-40’s. It CAN get chilly at night, so come prepared. Rain chances are at 50%, so feel free to bring a rain jacket. It’s going to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend!
Will I need any money?
Yes! You will need money for lunch in Cedar Hill on Sunday afternoon. Everything at retreat is covered in your registration cost!
Can my child bring his/her phone?
We DO allow teens to have their phones, but we encourage them to use them in their cabins only. We try to discourage the use of phones during the day/free time, etc. We encourage students to use their phones as cameras. We just don’t want them to be a distraction during retreat sessions.
When will we return?
We will be leaving the camp around 11:00am on SUNDAY (depending on how clean up and paper hearts goes). We will stop in Cedar Hill for lunch. This should put us back to the church building between 1-1:30 on SUNDAY afternoon. We ask that teens call on the way home as we get close so a ride can be waiting on them when we return.
“I’ll be driving my child up late/picking up early. What is the address?”
Mt. Lebanon Retreat Center is located at: 1701 Texas Plume Rd. Cedar Hill, TX 75104
Your GPS will get you there with no problem. Please let us know if you will be bringing your teen late so we won’t be looking for them during check-in. Email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org If your teen is driving on their own, it is necessary for us to know they have your permission. Please call or email Brandon directly. If your teen is leaving the retreat early please let us know ASAP.
Who is speaking this weekend?
We are excited to have STEVEN SMITH with us this weekend to speak. Steven is from TYLER where he serves as Youth and Family Minister for Glenwood Church of Christ. Your teen will be blessed by Steven’s passion and gift for teaching the word of God.
Will I have fun?
Yes! Trust me. This is going to be an awesome weekend. See you December 6
